Community Contact and financial contact; key personnel Empty Community Contact and financial contact; key personnel

Hi,

Is it possible to enter more than one community contact? If possible we would like to be able to have multiple contacts for this role.

Also, can you clarify the role of the financial contact? Would this be the contact that is responsible for processing the grant check if awarded, or the person who is responsible for contracts?

And one more question...Do we need to list the Authorized Signer on the Key Personnel page? And if so, what do we do if none of the drop down Roles are appropriate?

Thank you!

Community Contact and financial contact; key personnel Empty Assigning user roles

Post  Admin Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:14 pm

Hello Karen,

Great questions and thanks for using the Q&A.

RE: Community Contacts- I have forwarded your question about listing more than one community contact to Komen Headquarters and are awaiting their reply but it does not look like you can create more than one community contact when I go in there and try with our 'fake' user i am unable to do so. For now, please assign one person this role and clarify your communication processes in-house. Either assign one community contact the task of ensuring others receive the information emailed via GeMS or emails coming directly from our office, or more appropriately, have the grant administrator forward our emails, etc... to everyone within an agency that should be getting the information.

The financial contact would be the person who we would mail the 1st and 2nd payments and would be available for payment issues, questions, etc... The PD will most likely handle the (online) contract negotiation process, online, and will 'remind' the Authorized signer when the contract is ready to be singed. All of this will still take place in GeMS. We will 'e-sign' the contract on our end, also. Think of the Project Director as the "hub" of the project. Every agency will be different...some Project Directors will have all roles but the Authorized Signer, while other organizations may have a different person assigned for each role.

The Authorized signer does NOT have to be listed under Key personnel unless they are needed to complete the project. We did say in at least one workshop that they DID need to be entered in the key personnel but looking more closely at the drop down choices I now see that most AS will not fit into these choices. Sorry about any confusion and thank you for your patience with us as we work through this first year.

Community Contact and financial contact; key personnel Empty Received answer from Komen headquarters

It is what I guessed- here is their response:

<Joanne,

Thank you for reaching out regarding GeMS.

At this time there is not a location within the application for an organization to enter more than one community contact.

If none of the drop down boxes match the actual role of the individual on the project profile page then they should select an option that is the closest to what the individuals role is. All employees that will play a key role in the project, regardless if we are providing the salary dollars, should be included in the project personnel section.

Please let me know if you have further questions.>

Thanks again for your question!
